Alumni
College
December
7, 2002

Suzanne Allmendinger
Over
eighty CPCS alumni, faculty, staff and students came “back
to school” Saturday, December 7th to participate in the first
Alumni College.
It was a day filled with activities including eight faculty/alumni
led workshops that highlighted key issues and trends in public and
community service. There was plenty of time to renew friendships
and reconnect with community and professional networks and at lunch
each alum introduced themselves and shared something about where
they are now and what they are doing.

Are We Now and Where Are We Going?” |
As you would expect, our alums are active in the social justice
movement, playing key roles in the field of public and community
service across the state working with youth, disabled, elderly and
other underserved populations on health issues, worker rights and
housing, just to name a few.
The day concluded with a “Where do we go from here?”
session. Grads proposed a variety of activities to support and boost
our recruitment efforts and discussed ways to support the College.

Evaluations showed a high level of satisfaction from our alumni
who left us with the questions: “What can we do to support
CPCS?” and “When is the next alumni event?”

Plans are underway to mobilize this group and channel the energy
and fervor of our alums who are important members of the CPCS community.

Many thanks to all those who helped make this event a success, and
especially to our many alums who took the time to attend!
