The College of Public and Community Service offers a liberal
arts baccalaureate degree with a career focus. The Community
Media and Technology degree is designed to fit this model.
The CPCS curriculum is a competency-based, developmental curriculum
comprised of four levels. To complete the baccalaureate degree
a student must earn 120 credits. Work in the CMT Major, which
begins at Level II, accounts for 30 credit hours of work.
The Concentration and Certificate in Community Media and
Technology are designed to provide students with the key competencies
they need to incorporate a range of multi-media tools into
their primary responsibilities, be they labor activists, community
organizers, or agency professionals. Our offerings in Community
Media and Technology are being developed in coordination with
university-wide initiatives in information technology and
distance learning as well as related campus programs and community-based
media and technology partnerships.
