Content
The
CPCS website conforms to the University of Massachusetts Boston
website policy. The full umb.edu web policy can be seen here: http://www.umb.edu/web/policies/web_policy.html
In
addition, all content is expected to be consistent with the CPCS
mission, educational objectives, and academic policy, subject to
approval (see below). The CPCS mission statement may be read at:
http://www.cpcs.umb.edu/about/mission_statement.htm
Events
which are appropriate for notice to be posted here are those which
occur at, are sponsored by, or are participated in by people from
CPCS (students, faculty, or staff).
Notices
of news or events (e.g., in the Calendar, Faculty & Staff Support
pages, or Student Support pages) are listed with the newest items
at the top. Items come off the list when deadlines pass, or as they
become irrelevant. There may be occasional purges of older announcements
if necessary for space considerations.
Process
These
web pages are periodically checked for accuracy. In addition, new
pages and postings are reviewed for consistency with this policy.
The
process for approval of posts is as follows:
- The
manager of the website interprets this policy.
- A
two person panel of the Website Editorial Policy Committee reviews
submissions about which the website manager asks guidance, and
hears appeals of her decisions. This panel rotates monthly, alphabetically
by last name.
- The
full Website Editorial Policy Committee reviews submissions when
asked by the 2 person panel, or when a decision of the 2 person
panel is appealed.
In
addition, any content which reflects or implies changes in policy
or academic requirements is subject to approval by the Associate
Dean for Academic Affairs.
