This project is designed to help return millions of dollars in federal and state taxes to low-income Massachusetts residents using a new online filing system. The project, funded by a Department of Commerce Technology Opportunities Program grant to the College of Public and Community Service (CPCS) is a collaboration among the CPCS Community Resource Center, CTCNet New England, Survivors, Inc., and the Boston EITC Coalition.

The project supplements the existing Boston EITC campaign by providing a simplified EITC application system called I-CAN EIC to many of the existing full service tax sites and establishes three special sites where EITC only applications can be filed (see below).

In addition to the existing 20 tax preparation sites already established in Boston, residents can now also file using I-CAN EIC at: This project also serves communities outside the metro Boston area.

Contact Project Coordinator, Dorie Krauss for further information.
Development of this project has been documented in the Community Technology Review beginning with an article on I-CAN EIC followed by a story of the initial grant and most recently a project update.

A special public service announcement about the program has been produced by Nettrice Gaskins and CTC VISTAs Alli Shaughnessy and Jennifer Schmitt.
