The Future of Work in Massachusetts
On-Line Research Center

The Labor Resource Center at UMass Boston is focusing its efforts as part of the Future of Work in Massachusetts project on building an on-line research center and an open source database. The database would provide organizations and agencies actively involved in research and/or organizing around jobs and economic development in Massachusetts access to employer-specific data about job and employer characteristics. The database and website will be “open-source” so that participating organizations and agencies can more easily share information, develop knowledge, and coordinate actions to influence job and economic development in our communities.

We are currently at the early stages of the development of both the database and the website, and want to ensure that its continued development incorporates the ideas and concerns of organizations and agencies who may find such a database and website useful. We are also recruiting partner organizations and agencies willing to make a commitment to developing the shared data sources as a community resource.

If you or your organization is interested in getting involved in this project, please contact Anneta Argyres at the Labor Resource Center.
