The Labor Resource Center (LRC) provides educational and research programs to workers and to labor and community organizations. The mission of the LRC – to support workers and their organizations as they seek to gain control over their futures at work, in their communities, and in the political arena – is carried out through its three programs under the guidance of the LRC Advisory Board.

Labor Studies Program

The Labor Studies Program
offers a Labor Studies Certificate through UMass Boston's College of Public and Community Service (CPCS).

Labor Extension Program

The Labor Extension Program provides training, education and technical assistance to workers, labor unions, and other worker organizations.

Future of Work Research Program

The Future of Work Research Program conducts participatory action-oriented research about the changing nature of work in Massachusetts.

Labor Resource Center Advisory Board

The LRC Advisory Board guides the Labor Resource Center in meeting its important and exciting mission.

POPULAR EDUCATION FOR LABOR EDUCATORS
March 17-21, 2008 at UMass Boston

This 1-week intensive course offered by the LRC will expose you to both the theory and practice of popular education.  Together we will experience a variety of "pop ed" methods and tools, and working with a small group, you will design your own curriculum.

The course is open to the public at a cost of $300 for non-credit students.   The course cost includes lunch and materials.
