Community
Partners
A
unique way that CPCS has worked to establish partnerships with
agencies and community organizations is through our Agency Agreement
program. Through this program, CPCS has established "partnership
agreements" with over 25 human service agencies and community
and labor organizations. The College provides tuition waivers
to the community partners that may be used for staff or constituents
who enroll in CPCS. In exchange, the agencies agree to provide
a staff member, board member or other person of their choice to
teach one course or deliver an internship for students at CPCS.
Through
the Agency Agreement program, CPCS is able to recruit highly skilled
practitioners to provide rich and relevant learning opportunities
to our students, the agencies are able to provide a wonderful
professional development opportunity to their staff and constituents,
and in the process we also formally legitimize the expertise of
community leaders and the work of community organizations.
