The First Semester Experience

All entering students share a common first semester experience called the Critical Learning Seminar that, along with helping students develop important academic skills, provides students with the advising support and orientation they need to become acclimated to the College and the options it provides.

Linked to the Critical Learning Seminar, students who need or want extra support in developing their academic writing skills may take advantage of special first semester writing workshops (Writing with Confidence), helping them build the skills and confidence required for the Critical Learning Seminar and providing an excellent foundation for the writing requirements at the College.
