Retreat Committee Report

Strategic Planning

Message from Anna Madison

Re: Schedule

Thanks for a very good strategic planning retreat turnout. Over the two-day period we accomplished a great deal. The energy and
positive “can do” spirit was overwhelming. The retreat was a very big first step for the College. Some of the initiatives generated at the
retreat can be implemented early during the spring semester. Others will require more time to develop.

Now, the next steps to make our vision for the future a reality. The tentative schedule:

Step 1 – The strategic planning committee leaders will prepare and submit the reports from the retreat small groups to the strategic
planning committee chair. Report Due Date: January 6, 2006

Step 2 – The strategic planning committee will submit the combined report to the CPCS faculty and staff with a ranking of priorities for
review. This report should include the strategic issues statement including the goals to address the issues, initiatives, and action steps.
Strategic Planning Committee. Report Due Date: February 1, 2006

Step 3 – Working groups will be formed to refine and finalize initiatives and action steps, identify barriers and ways to overcome them,
identify resources needed to support actions steps and identify responsible parties to implement actions. Each group will submit a report of the finalized action plans and implementation protocol to the strategic planning committee. Working group assignments will be made
February 1. (each group will include a member of the strategic planning committee and a policy board representative). Working
Group Reports Due Date: April 14, 2006

Step 4- Strategic planning committee will submit a finalized plan with timelines to the College. Finalized Strategic Plan Due Date:
May 10, 2006

Step 5 – A committee will be appointed to develop a fundraising strategy to complement the strategic plan. Fundraising Plan Due:
July1, 2006
