Independent Evaluators "Yellow Pages"
How to Register for Experiential Learning

How to Register for Experiential Learning

If you are demonstrating a competency through directed study or prior learning, you still need to register for that competency. Here's how:

  • Find an evaluator who is eligible to evaluate you for the competency via " The Yellow Pages " (a listing of Independent Evaluators by competency);
    Get approval prior to registering from a faculty member.
  • Go into the WISER system and select the competency on your electronic learning plan and register for it by choosing your independent evaluators section;
  • Email or call the evaluator. It is up to you to make an appointment and sit down with the faculty member to think together about a plan for completing the competency

Please be informed that registering for an independent competency does not constitute agreement on the part of the evaluator to do the evaluation and it is up to you to seek that approval.

Competencies you do through directed study or prior learning count just the same for Financial Aid and Billing purposes as the competencies you do in a class.

You may add and drop competencies through the 5th week of every semester.
