There are so many projects happening here right now! Tomorrow I have a United Way training session on program outcomes. I am mainly concerned with developing outcomes for our CTC, but I am also working to integrate outcomes throughout the organization. We are creating logical flow models & indicators for all of our education programs.
I am working hard to implement a new GED preparation program. I have obtained a software program called A-plus that is wonderful for independent learning in a variety of subjects. Unfortunately, I do not have a Spanish version and we are facing a language barrier. However, I do have a GED manuel in Spanish that we are beginning with this evening. First, we need to establish goals and determine skill-levels for the students.
I also want to say KUDOS to Victoria! I visited her in Mattawa last week, and she is doing a fabulous job! Her Mattawa center has several terrific programs, and I can tell she is doing a great job of balancing her responsibilities. I have visited Diana in Kennewick and Victoria in Mattawa. It is nice to have VISTA's nearby that I can share ideas with!
Other events at La Casa Hogar include planning for El Dia de Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) on November 2 and planning for a raffle that involves our students. We are also planning several lunches to introduce community members who could be potential donors to our staff and programs. One thing is for sure-there is never a dull day at La Casa Hogar!
